arte+7: Ein Schritt in die richtige Richtung

Ab dem 1. Oktober will der deutsch-französische Fernsehsender ARTE eine Auswahl seiner Sendungen weitere sieben Tage lang im Internet anbieten. Das kostenlose Angebot soll “arte+7” heißen und erinnert an die ZDF-Mediathek und das Audio- & Videoportal der ARD. Auch wenn Markus Beckedahl vom Blog netzpolitik.org richtig bemängelt, dass die Sendungen “leider nur im Internet und nicht unterwegs im Zug” verfügbar sind, freue ich mich doch auf eine Auswahl qualitativ hochwertiger Sendungen. Ein Großteil des ARTE-Programms ist ja gerade für Politikinteressierte sehr interessant. Die Videos werden laut Pressemitteilung in den Qualitäten 300k und 800k sowohl für den Windows Media Player als auch im Flash-Format erscheinen.

Masterprogramme “Internationale Beziehungen”

Die Association of Professional Schools in International Affairs (APSIA) organisiert eine Messe bei der sich verschieden Universitäten mit Masterprogrammen im Bereich “Internationale Beziehungen” vorstellen. Die Veranstaltung findet am 1. Oktober 2007 in Berlin auf dem Campus der Hertie School of Governance (HSoG) statt.

Eine Vorregistrierung scheint erforderlich, ist aber kostenlos.

Die APSIA-Messe ist eine gute Gelegenheit um verschieden Institute und Studienmöglichkeiten kennenzulernen und mit Vertretern der Universitäten ins Gespräch zu kommen.

Die folgenden Universitäten aus den USA und Europa nehmen teil:

Internationale Nachrichtensender

Seit kurzem gibt es eine überaus komfortable Möglichkeit eine ganze Reihe von internationalen Nachrichtensendern online anzuschauen. Mittels der Software Zattoo kann man CNN International, France 24 English, Al Jazeera English, SF info (Deutsch) und Canal 24 Horas (Spanisch) anschauen.

Damit die Nutzer Zugriff auf diese Sender bekommen nutzt Zattoo eine peer-to-peer basiertes Internet Protokoll; die angebotenen Inhalte sind von den Rechteinhabern lizensiert. Bisher ist der Service auf die Schweiz, Frankreich, Spanien, Deutschland und Großbritannien beschränkt – sowohl der Ausbau des Senderangebots als auch die Internationalisierung werden wohl weiter vorangetrieben.

If you are looking for a good way to watch international news channels like CNN International, France 24 English, Al Jazeera English, SF info (German), or Canal 24 Horas (Spanish) you might want to have a look at Zattoo.

Zattoo is an software that allows the user to watch various European and international TV stations online. It’s technology is based on a peer-to-peer Internet protocol and offers licensed and therefore legal content.

Right now the service is limited to Switzerland, Denmark, Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom and the channel selection is different for each of these countries.

Master-Studiengänge Politikwissenschaft

Mit der Umsetzung der Bologna-Reform an den deutschen Universitäten werden langsam aber sich auch immer mehr politikwissenschaftliche Master-Studiengänge geschaffen. Leider scheint es jedoch, dass gerade ein Teil der sehr guten politikwissenschaftlichen Institute noch keinen Master anbietet (Heidelberg, München).

Einen guten, wenn auch leider nicht mehr ganz aktuellen Überblick bietet die DVPW in einer Excel-Tabelle.
